Anybody here on Byetta have a problem eating eggs? I've been on the Byetta
for about 4 months now, and pretty much since the start of it I can't eat
Eggs at all without feeling nauseas. It took a while to connect the two, but
there is absolutely a connection for me.

Anyone else have that problem with it? Beyond that, it's been great, lost 16
lbs and the sugar is under control. Even having something like French Toast
(yeah, not much, and I know that was being bad!) makes me feel not great due
to the egg content.

I've been on By for about 4 months too, and pretty much mirror your
experience - sugar under control better than ever, losing weight, but
still occasional mild nausea.  Haven't connected that with eggs, but
it's possible

In fact, I think I'll have a few eggs right now!

David - I'm also 4 months in the Byetta experiment.  I haven't had a
problem with eggs, but I do get some pretty bad nausea now & then, to
what I don't know.  I keep track of my food intake & haven't been able
to correlate any particular food & the bad nausea.  I'm still on the 5
mcgs b/c it's working so well (A1c down from 7.3 to 6.3, wt down 35
lbs).
I hope some other lizard users chime in & share their experiences.

The eggs are the only thing that do it for me. Yeah, the sugar is really
well under control BUT I LIKE THEM EGGS!!!

So I'm pretty much stuck with cereal for breakfast unless I make a sandwich.

Any other breakfast ideas out there?

Here I go again with the breakfast that works for me.  :

1/3-1/2Cup low fat cottage cheese
3-4 fruits in small amounts -3 strawberries, 1/2 a clementine
orange, handful of blue, rasp, or blackberries, 1/2 snall graefruit, 1/5
mango, smile sided slice o canteloupe, hls peach, 4-6 cheeries, etc-avoid
bananas
1/3-1/2 C low fat plain yogurt

That's it.  If you like if sweeter, add a little artificial sweetener as
desired.  I don't find it necessary.

Works for me, but YMMV

Think outside the square. Among other things I make up
casseroles and stews then freeze them in single portion
serves. Zap them in the microwave for breakfast once or
twice a week.

What's wrong with meats, fish, vegetables etc? A small steak
or hamburger only takes minutes, or poached fish, or
sausages or a ham steak.

Chris will say it's because I'm standing on my head - but I
eat my cereal for supper in the evening.

Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

Well, Alan *is* upside down... He's an Australian, and they seem to go
in for that sort of thing...

However, he's right, as many of us are more sensitive to carbs in the
morning.

OK... While it might not appeal to some, you did ask for ideas, so
I'll share my usual breakfast.

I use frozen vegetables, usually chopped spinach and mixed ver such as
broccoli, asparagus, and carrots. I vary the vegetable types to give
myself variety, but this is a good starting point.

I cook them in a glass dish in the microwave, basically steaming them.
Once they are cooked, I drain off any excess water, if any.
I then add diced extra-firm tofu, and several heaped tablespoons of
ground flax. To this, I add a large dose (about three tablespoons) of
dijon mustard, a tablespoon of walnut oil, and a tablespoon of tobasco
sauce.

It might not sound great, but I found I like it, and it's very good
for keeping my BG's down.

Try to minimise that by a good shake or a spin in a salad
drainer first. That water after microwaving is where most of
the vitamins went.

I often cook silver-beet (swiss chard) that way - the small
amount of water that collects in the bottom of the bowl is a
deep green; I mix it back into the cooked silver-beet.

Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

Excellent point!

Usually, I have so little excess water that I just let the ground flax
soak it up, but you are quite right, it's far better to not lose the
nutrition down the drain!!

Also, eggs taste differently now - they are extremely salty tasting to me
even though I don't use any salt and use the same margarine I have always
used.
It's 100% the byetta.
