think it stopped any children from being born. Who knows; the one to

Are we not here to share our experiences, strengths and hopes with one
another, as I have said many times?
I am not a two dimensional person and forever thankful for that fact.
I use two siglines here. One has an inspirational message, while the
other has a patriotic one. I am sorry if some people find the latter
one offensive, especially since it pays tribute to those who have
given their lives in the war in Iraq.

So why start a new thread? What's it got to do with DM? This is bound
to kick off more of the same arguments about religion and war because
you are having a go at those who argue about it, particularly the one
you mention by name. What other effect do you expect this thread to
have? By the sounds of what you are saying, you're asking people to do
exactly what you are asking them not to.
If you're going to post OT, at least try to keep down the thread count
please. That way we can block a single thread instead of blocking one a
day on the same irrelevant subject.
Looks to me like THIS thread is a misuse of the group.
Rant over. Thread blocked.

LOL I've YET to see guy post on any thread other then making
his own.. Often I think he just enjoys the individual attention and
likes to stand out in a crowd.
I've bitched about his starting of new threads that make NO SENSE

an old man bitching cuz his panties are in a bunch.
He would be MUCH MORE value if he'd keep ON-TOPIC in the

I believe we all have a right to start a new thread on
what we see fit. Guy is not an old dog and he certainly
knows more tricks about diabetes than the rest of us
with the problems he has had to suffer through. Some of
us are not as smart as you and the others and are dying
from this stinking disease. I still can't get the hang
of what to do other than lose weight and that is easier
said than done my friend.

called do you want to live or die. fight or flight. roll over
and forget about it. I went through how many doctors in
the past 6yrs? in the past 14yrs for my back? NOT until this
one GP (which i've really gained a respect for her) took the
time to look up symptoms and sent me for the right blood
work. I learned what I had to do to keep alive when I had
a stupid a.s doctor tell me I was a t2 and didn't need insulin
when I ran 500 all the time, if I ate or not, exercised or not.

Revisal, you are entitled to your opinion of ,me.
It is no concern to me.
I am not here to be self serving..I do know who I am and what I
achieved in life before diabetes destroyed my life.
Most of my posts are not literal but to encourage good behavior
so some can escape this nasty disease.
Threads are to create controversy and to simply
argue as an ego thing.
I find you can present a counter opinion in a new post
and avoid some ego issues. Most long threads are a waste of
time.
I have posted more items recently because they are indicated.
I post ideas instead of recipes. For these groups to serve a good
purpose we need a higher plane.
It does not matter what I believe in the real world. You probably
would not like it.
You have demonstrated to me you are a decent and companionate
person.
Diabetes is a horrible disease in the long term. Is it
not proper to vent hatred about what some person
may post that you do not like emotionality.
It is well know that diabetes does affect all of us
mentally. WE do ,make allowances for this.
I do not follow the crowd and let all affect what I post.
When to bull stops I will stop. We need to discourage
some things which Ted has done very well with salesmen
that try to screw sick people.
No one has to read what I post. Kill files are

author line. I use this liberally but
miss a few very good items

Please post what you want but I am not engaging in a
inane exchange with you.

Perhaps if more people considered the following three
things what comes after would be unnecessary:
(1)A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle,
and twice the brightness can then be shared by all.
(2)Love is giving all with no conditions.
Love is expecting nothing in return.
(3)A religious person is trying to avoid hell;
a spiritual person has already been there.

The following information is given with the utmost respect
for the armed forces and civilians who have died in the
current war in Iraq.
According to http://icasualties.org/oif/
The number of Americans killed in Iraq as of Oct 31, 2005 is 2,025.
THAT IS NINE MORE ADDED TO THE TOTAL IN THE LAST TWO DAYS.
United Kingdom = 97
Other = 102
We do not know how many Iraqi civilians have died.
We only know the estimated number is much higher.

Chuck I feel the same way. I will always read Guys posts and his name is one

Hi Guy
I like you, and I respect what you've done in keeping the
group alive over the years.
But, to be honest, what you did most for me was show me what
might lie in my future if I didn't take this disease
seriously.
Thank you for that. However, I'm afraid I get lost in most
of your oblique references.
Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

oblique. Now THAT'S one hell of an appropriate word to describe Guy's
soliloquies. (And I DARE say you might find MY usage of "soliloquies"
most appropriate!) :)

No, not really. You tend to speak to others. Guy doesn't. Not
faulting him for that; just remarking on it. I've got nothing against him.

Your Momma sounds just like mine was. :-) Yes I remember your hard times
and pain. I respect you more than you know as I have been reading how you
have gotten a job and wonder how the heck you do it. I admire you Reisa. I
could not do it. I guess I am a wimp.
As for thirsty??? Yes but too stupid as in not learning very well and trust
me I have tried like crazy to catch on to all this and I just can not
comprehend so I guess I will die young. Sorry sad but true. I may have good
language skills and such but that comes from working in the public all my
life but to learn something it takes me a whole lot longer than most people.
I just don't learn well. It is like Greek to me.
As for this group...Yes I am fully aware all of you have tried your hardest
and best to help me. I can't tell in words how much I do appreciate that. I
can't be taught as I don't comprehend but yet I keep coming back here hoping
one day it will hit me like a ton of bricks before it is too late. My life
for six years has already passed me by. No I am not pleased but I have to
live with what was handed me as I have no choice.
Again much respect and admiration to you for working when I know you are in
a great deal of physical pain also. However I am not you. Sad but true.

Well I love and respect you too Diana... I'm not expecting you to be me at
all.
LOL Hell, the world would crash if there were two of me. ;-) I just want
you
to keep asking questions to get help.. Remember the more you ask the more
you will know.
Is Dale still bringing in the cupcakes and ho-ho's? Are you telling Tammy
what you need to eat to get better glucose control? How about telling Dale
here are the list of my meds I HAVE to take and at this time and let him
become a part of your care and help you remember. It's not easy, no one
said it is... BUT it's denial... and when you're ready to help yourself,
we're
all here ready as well.
Sadly, I know you want to succeed... You just need the willpower to do it
so reach deep down and find it...
Reisa.

Yes to all your questions. In fact my sister who is non diabetic got to go
to see "Cats" in Cincinnati while Dale got me a box of choc covered cherries
for Sweetest Day. I let him know about it too. But he tried I guess to be
sweet to me LOL which is hard to do most of the time these days.
Yes will power. Not something I have much of anymore. I will continue trying
though. And I don't think it would be bad being you :-) You are a pretty
neat lady. I love ya lots.

I have to ask. How soes suffering through problems make him know more tricks
than the rest of us? If he REALLY knew the tricks, he'd likely as not hd to
suffer a lot less. Or is that me just thinking logically?

No-one disputes the amount of hard work that's involved in tthis disease, be
it losing weight (for some) gaining weight (for others) or "simply"
maintaining a decent BG level.

The reason Guy doesn't post to a thread is because then it's possible to
know WHO he's banging on about. Starting a new thread allows him to accuse,
bang on and generally feel free to say what he likes without fear of "the
perp" giving him a hard time. It's what used to be called cowardice. Or
hiding behind mothers apron. But that's Guy.

If you are going to attack someone in such a pointless manner, why not
at least go to the trouble of checking you facts?
I just did a Google on Guy's posts. Those that were responding in a
thread amounted to 2850, those initiating a thread came to 1320. That
sort of makes you and RK look foolish and petty doesn't it?

Guy can be a little vague in his mode of expression, but I have never
had difficulty in understanding his intent. Why does it pose such a
problem to you and RK? Too intellectually demanding perhaps?
