>Remind us - what were they when you first came here?
I would have to see if I still have the records, but I think somewhere
between 7.5 & 8.0 I was fortunate to be diagnosed early on.

>what are your secrets?
If I have any it is following what I have learned from others here.
You know, like postprandial testing, eating to my meter, having a go
at walking on a regular basis and I have been losing weight very
slowly. Of course I have also been on a "See food diet" for a long
time. The difference is that mine involves paying attention to
everything that goes into my mouth.
Through postprandial testing and eating to my meter I have found some
foods that I need to avoid. Laurie and I both read the labels on
almost everything to buy to check the carb count and recommended
serving size.
I am on 5mg Glipizide per day and twice a day I take 1,000 mg
Metformin. I would love to lose enough weight to be able to reduce the
amount of meds. My blood pressure is under better control since I have
lost weight and exercise more.
>Incidentally - that's the first lab report I've seen with a
>defined range for VLDL - good one.
I guess since I always go to the same lab I didn't know that others
don't do that. I make it a habit to ask any doctor who wants lab work
to please be sure to mail me a copy.

Our doctor has complimented us both on knowing what is going on in our
bodies and not being afraid to call or come in when we have something
wrong that others might consider trivial. He told us the first time we
visited him to please not wait until we were seriously ill to come see
him.
Other than those things, I think I am just blessed just for today.

You are apparently also blessed with a good doctor.
Have a great weekend:-)
