This morning I had an appointment with the endo.

He took my blood pressure and it was 80/50.  He went to his kitchen and
got me a sour pickle to fix the low blood pressure.  Apparently, diovan
is also a bp med and I didnt have a problem to begin with,  He wants me
to only take 40 mgs a week instead of 160.

So here goes

glucose high     121
cholesterol   131
triglycerides 137
hdl  55
ldl   51
homocystein  8.1
chol/hdl ratio    2.5

a1c  5.4

so I am a happy camper

WOW!
This is fantastic.
I should be getting my results in tomorrow's mail. When I do I will
post them. The doctor's nurse talked to me already, but I want to be
sure I get them right. I will guarantee you that I too will be doing
the happy dance.

Keep up the fine work Loretta.

My daughter-in-law gave Chuck, Jr. a hot air balloon ride for his
birthday last year. He said it was absolutely fabulous. Enjoy.

Loretta, you're doing great!

How does a pickle help relieve low bp? I've never heard that before.

Keep up the fantastic work - your doc must be thrilled.

Maybe it looked like the most convenient way to make her eat
salt, which usually raises blood pressure.
Loretta Eisenberg - 29 Oct 2005 01:57 GMT
Robert you are exactly right,  first he was going to give me salt water
and then offered up the pickle as a more delicious thing to eat.

I'm pretty sure salt water would be the second fastest way to make me throw
up.

Vicki, salt brings up blood pressure and it sure was one salty pickle.
It brought me up to 112/73 after a while and after drinking v8 juice
which is also full of sodium

You deserve much more than the designation "happy camper" Such great
numbers after a cruise no less! Have yourself one (1) Large Snickers
bar, then back to the grindstone.

refusal of cruise food, and excercise when you did not feel like it.

Susan, being a diabetic is probably the best thing that has happened to
me,  I have made complete lifestyle changes and I have never been
healthier.  Before diagnosis, my tris were 1800 and cholesterol in the
400s.

I am never deprived because portion control works for me.
