It's interesting to see that I burn just as much glucose doing cardio
for 30 minutes as doing weight lifting for 30 minutes. I knew I was
burning glucose on the treadmill & cross trainer, but I wasn't sure if
doing the weights had the same effect.
Well it does.
I did weights today. Fasting bg 5.4. ate waffle & ham. 1hr post bg 7.4.
After weights tested 4.4.
Yesterday: Fasting bg 5.2, ate waffle & pork rind. 1 hr post 8.0. Did
cross trainer for 30 minutes. Tested 4.5 after workout.
Question of the day. It seems I bottom out in the 4is range no matter
where I start out (1hr post bg). I'm sure the metformin has a lot to do
with it. Are there others out there who also drop to the 4's with
exercise???
Thanks,
Trinity

I do do any weights at the moment, but at my age I need to do some
basic upper body weight training. I walk or ride a bicycle every day
rain or shine. I don't see a lot of interest in exercise on this
group. My A1C is 6.8 as a T-1 diabetic and I have a lot more lows than
highs. Gastroparesis and celiac disease causes a lot of this. It is
very hard to stay; sugar, wheat and gluten free. I manage though and
travel go on cruises and do all the usual things.
Speaking of cruises I know Loretta went on a Mexican cruise and in
talking about Wilma's threat I see Cancun, Mexico mentioned so I
suppose they on a different route. I went on one once where many
people got sick when the sea got rough, I thoroughly enjoyed it, but
most people didn't. It will be interesting to hear her version. The
last time she went I suggested she send email from the ship but she
objected to the healthy charge they impose, maybe excessive would be a
better word. I have won several tee shirts by doing the early morning
exercise programs.

Hi Trinity: I'm a daily runner. I usually run in the afternoon but
thinking/trying to run in the morning when bg levels are higher. I
usually see a drop in BG levels 1-2 hrs post afternoon workout (eg. 160
down to 110)..time between readings mught be 4 hrs. For some reason I
don't see such a big drop say 4 hrs after breakfast with the same
workout in the morning.
