I sent Budd the same message via email - assuming his email address is
correct once the word SPAM was deleted. I have no intention of
carrying on with it in ASD. I just wanted to be sure that he saw that
reply.

When was the last time he posted anything of any use to diabetics?
His one mission in this newsgroup is to flame me and sometimes Mack.
It ain't gonna work.

When I did post diabetic material as it related to my experience and as my
doctor has me testing etc. I was met with derision and verbal abuse.

I test twice a day ONLY, eat a light but NORMAL diet, my BG's are under 6.4
for the last three months, and I've lost a total of 52 pounds, and I'm
walking up to 2 miles a day. I must be doing something that works for me.

Chuck, you are certainly the most expert at putting one's foot in one's
mouth that I've ever seen.

well maybe you shld shut up and listen a bit more... fine so you can eat a
"normal" diet, many here cannot.  congrats on the weight loss.. did anyone
congradulate you when you gained the 52lbs?

thats wonderful you're walking 2miles a day... was there a reason you hadn't

In your opinion. I see Chuck as the immature one.

RK, I put on the 52 pounds over 10 years ago, 8 years before my diagnosis. A
tendency towards heaviness is part of my genetics as I've been heavy (20
pounds overweight or more) most of my adult life.

Should I be slammed for being able to eat moderate levels of carbs? or
because I don't test till I look like a pincushion?

I do understand YMMV and I do understand that not everybody can go on my
diet, but others need to understand that I tried the low carb route and
stayed in the 130- 150 BG range all day (Avandamet 500/4 twice daily). I
didn't stabilize until I quit the low carbing. IT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME, ERGO
IT DOESN'T WORK FOR EVERYBODY.

> thats wonderful you're walking 2miles a day... was there a reason you hadn't

Yeah, the 52 pounds along with athritis and a rotated hip joint.

Then you haven't read all my posts. Support comes in all forms and sometimes
a spanking is needed.

That's your grandma's opinion. Besides, is it arguing to defend one's
beliefs? Have you forgotten the names I've been called for being an active
Christian? Where the admonitions to Chuck for his insults directed at me? Or
is your bigotry showing?

And RK thinks he's the dadblamed moderator.

Hey, RK, if your beliefs were attacked would you have the intestinal
fortitude to defend them, or would you do as Chuck wants and roll over and
expose your soft underbelly to the ravenous wolves?

Budd has no reason to post except to flame me. I do my best to share
what has worked and what has not worked for me in an attempt to keep
my diabetes under control.

I have shared constructive things I have gleaned here with our local
diabetes support group and some useful things I have learned there
with this group.

Ah, so it matters how many times a person posts about their diabetes? More
bigotry, Chuck? Now you decide a person's worth by how often they post on
topic? Your percentage is actually quite low since I've been in the group,
and not just because of your posts to me.

So how can you dare tell me my errors in social function when you are so
biased yourself?

In point of fact, I do nor anyone else decides a person's worth = not

And I have made it very plain literally hundreds of times that
diabetes does not rule my life. Consequently, I enjoy talking about
other things.

As a matter of fact, in the very first posting I made to this group I
stated that I will not be a slave to this disease. Diabetes is not the
only potentially terminal disease that I have. It is in many ways
easier to manage than the others.

The people that make a lot of harassment make
a lot of us  question the validity

The actions of  some people seem to be part of

Wow!  Makes me glad I'm not a "Christian", if part of being that requires
you to call names of your elders.  Mayhaps you could have used a little more
"support for your morals" when you were growing up.

No, Julie, I'm here for the same reason as everyone else, I just don't fit
the accepted mold is all when it come to my Christian beliefs. It appears

Just because "everyone" thinks someone should be a certain personality

I don't care one whit what your beliefs are.  But I also don't want to hear

Nothing, other than my faith helps sustain me thru my emotional lows. If I
feel a verse of Scripture could help another thru a rough time, I should be
free to post it, but I've been denied that by Guy, Ted, Chuck and Mack.

Then you are not seeing what's going on. All my posts on my beliefs are
because I'm constantly being told to "leave my religion / beliefs out" in
one form or another. That I cannot, will not do. WYSIWYG.

According to many here, I'm supposed to shut up and take my beatings for
being a fundamental Christian like a good little subhuman lifeform. That I
cannot, will not do. I ran out of cheeks to turn a long time ago thanks to
Chuck and Mack.

Budd is certainly not a Christian by any definition of the word. He is
a hate filled bigot who uses the label Christian to excuse bad

Other than that, he's probably a pretty nice people to old dogs and

Beatings?  Nobody said anything about beatings.  We're just all getting sick

My dear, I was not answering you. I was answering my antagonist. If
somehow or other I accidentally posted it as a reply to you I am very
sorry indeed.

In looking at you post, I see that is exactly what I did. Don't know
how, but it happened. Sharon used the word "fu*king" or some such
thing in a reply to you know who. He answered her and never bothered
to accuse her of using fowl language as he had me in an earlier post
where I referred to him as a fatherless child.

Once again - sorry dear.

if that bit of nonsense were actually true no one would get sober in

However, I can see some logic in that thinking.  As I never take

Liars, thieves, pedophiles, I just don't like being around people who
claim it's okay to keep repeating the crimes over and over again
simply because they claim God has forgiven them each time.

How right you are.
Nor should they get a free ride on the backs of all taxpayers by never
paying one cent tax on the billions of dollars worth of property they
own. Do individual clergy even pay income taxes? What about priests
who have taken a vow of poverty so appear to not actually receive a
pay check? I know a retired Catholic priest who owns his own home. I
doubt if the money for that just magically appeared.

Name calling . . . so childish.

My father's name was Lester Franklin Cochran, who was born in Ohio and he
sired 9 children to my mother. He was a Veteran of WWII and died of a

taxicab, possibly caused by Diabetes.

You should know you old reprobate.

I am sorry I called you a bastard, especially since I do not believe
any child is a bastard regardless of the circumstances of their birth.

However, you fit the definition of a reprobate to a fair thee well.

>My father's name was Lester Franklin Cochran, who was born in Ohio and he
>sired 9 children to my mother.

Sired?
Is he some kind of a bull or stud horse?
I have never heard a man - especially one's father - referred to as a
sire. Well, maybe a king or two.

> He was a Veteran of WWII

And you already know that my father died in February 1943 while
serving this country. So what's your point?

By the way, my step father was a partially disabled veteran of WWII
who died of heart disease directly due to his diabetes. Also, he was
an uncaring son of a bitch of a father to me while doing anything my
sister desired. He attended every one of her children's wedding, but
not a one of my children's and even said he didn't feel like going
anywhere the day Laurie and I were married. The only thing good I can
say about him is that he was a wonderful grandpa to my children. You
see, I always told them to call him "Grandpa" not "Grandpa (first
name)" like my sister's kid did.

My point is, being a veteran gains no respect from me when the person
is an uncaring cruel father and husband. I saw the bruises on my mom's
arms, thighs and breasts that he left while joking around as he called
it.

My step-dad served in WWI and was discharged with honor and he treated my
mom and us kids great. So, my attitudes are heavily influenced by a 5'5"
package of a Victorian Era gentleman that took nothing off nobody. My
genetic father was a conniving, womanizing deadbeat that sired over 20 kids
around the US and possibly the world.

Closed minded? I am open to God's possibilities from all sources - not

Congrats on the 52 lbs.
I think any derision was aimed at testing only 2 times per day and relying
on that 6.4% when those PPs may be further damaging your systems without you
being aware of it.   Or maybe the derision was aimed at you not seeming to
care about the former.

Thank you.

Well, I do random PP's when I have a few extra test strips ( I get mine from
Liberty in the quantity prescribed by my doctor) or when I by an extra can
(Freestyle). My PP's are never over 160 @ 1hr and are under 130 by the
second hour. I've tested all my snacks and 70% of my "regular" menus.

Now explain where I'm not caring about things? I'm healing well when I get
an injury, I have more energy, my mind is clearer than 6 months ago.

No, I think the derision was simply because I was seen as a threat to the
status quo. I wasn't playing by the "rules". Heck, Guy went so far as to say
publicly that I wasn't toeing the line properly.
