My doctor has just put me on Avandia for my type 2 diabetes. I am having sensations of being high as if I've had many beers or mixed drinks. I presume you are checking it? If not, you should be. Check it any time you feel weird or ill. You might be having a hypo. If so, you need to eat or drink something with about 15 g of carbs in it. On meds I must plan every meal and snack and never go more than 4 hours without food. I most definitely got head-rushes the first couple times I took it, about 2 hours after taking it. My energy was much higher for the rest of the first week. My blood sugars were pretty much the same as usual, BTW. These effects were not from lows. Unfortunately, these effects wore off and I started to puff up with fluid and by the 3rd week I had a nonstop headache, constipation, and a face full of zits (unusual for me.) I have had rashes, etc. from eating wheat bread and wonder if it has to do with Avandia, which I am also taking.
