But that is only a neglectable part of that population, and the vast
majority doesn't have these problems, so it might be valuable and viable
advice for them.

Well, this piece of research news wasn't about "You are fat because you are
a lazy slob". It's a well-known message again that even moderate exercise
can help to accomplish loss of abdominal fat.
Research and research news is never about "You are fat because you are a
lazy slob". What is true however is that there are some people always
_assuming_ research findings about "changing lifestyle to manage
overweight" translate one on one to "You are fat because you are a lazy
slob". But that is a problem of their perception, not of the actual content
of the findings.

I wish I had the link but I read that you don't start to burn fat or use fat
as energy until 45 minutes into the work out.
so I am guessing before that time if there are no carbs that for the first
45 minutes
you are burning muscle - actually making muscles smaller?

Most ARE fat, and DO get diabetes because they are lazy slobs and overeat.
Genetically they are pre-disposed to it and only if they are in great shape
will they not get it (it's a really hard battle and one which must always be
fought or you loose it).
I was one of em too!
