I don't know if there are any wives of diabetics who visit this group
regularly, but I couldn't find a group specifically for wives of
diabetics, so I created one. Feel free to drop by if you're
interested. :-) http://groups.google.com/group/Wives-of-Diabetics

Hi Sarah,
I just want to say that my wife is the most supportive and loving
person to care for my diabetese diet and our children. She cooks
wonderful low carb meals for me everyday faithfully, she even prepare
my diet whenever we go out to eat out or during our many vacations. I
owe my life to her. I can not have a normal glucose level without
medications if it's not because of her cooking. Take care.

That's awesome. :-) That's what I'm hoping to do for my husband as
well. We're still newlyweds, and fairly young (I'm 22; he's 23), and
I've only been meal-planning at all (not to mention diabetic
meal-planning) for about a month. I've been counting carbs for my
husband for the past couple of weeks, and it's pretty eye-opening to
see how many carbs are in some everyday foods. It's definitely made a
difference in my ability to cook healthy meals for my husband (and me).
:-) Good luck with everything!
God bless!

The wives of diabetic husbands in my DM support group are unsung
heroines. Their husbands would be in big trouble without them.
The single men in the group, most of whom are cooking-challenged and
detail-impaired, are in much worse shape.
