went to the doc this morning to get my hand
looked at further.  the doc ordered a bone density
test for me and more blood work... they took 7 tubes
about bled me dry. lol

overall, basically she gave me a physical... she said
for someone in my condition I was in excellent health
otherwise.  she did a ekg and said I have the heart of
a marathon runner, lol guess osmosis does work after
all!!

she gave me some other anti-inflamitory, some meds
for my stomach and lowered my zestril to 2.5mg since
my BP was 110/64 and I'd not had any zestril in about
6 months cuz I kept getting dizzy from a low bp.

lol and again the GP asks,, "you have a endocronologist
right? because you know more then I do about DM" after
a 5 min discussion on how I carb count and insulin adjust.

anyhooo.... overall, my name wasn't in the obits this morning
so I reckon i'm still alive another day..

off to work... have fun all

Most people check the weather and their email when they get up, I check
the obituaries first thing.  If I'm not listed in them I get dressed
and go out into the world. :)

One of my Uncles used to tell me that if he ever woke up dead, he would
put on his hat and run......

My mother checks email, then the obits online.  She does it to see how many
of them she knows.

Around Boston, the obits are called the Irish Social Page.

Kurt I do that very same thing. In our area there are way too many "young"
people dying. Sad news but true. Especially sad when I see people that
graduated with me has died already. I was in the class of "68". But anyways
thanks for the smile this morning. :-)

>I was in the class of "68".

I've often wondered about that "class of" thing with you
guys. Is it the year you started, or the year you graduated?
Is it HS or college?

Assuming graduation, if it was HS, I was "class of 63",
technician "class of 66", college "class of 72" - it gets
sort of confusing. I think we had a HS reunion once, after
twenty-five years - but I missed it; maybe I'll go to the
fiftieth:-)

In my case the year "68" was my High School as I don't have any college
behind me. I am dumber than a box of rocks and my grades would never have
gotten me in the front door of college.

Diana, don't put yourself down. If you were dumb you
wouldn't be here trying to gain control.

Never confuse "educated" with "intelligent". Lots of dumb
people graduated college - as did some that were very
bright.

I believe in the value of education and support it strongly,
but lots of very bright people also never went to college.

Some of the best brains never even made it to high school!
On a more personal level, my mum left school in grade 6
(about 12 years old) to help with younger brothers and
sisters. For years she was just mum until one day (as I got
older of course) I realised what a highly intelligent woman
she was with I am sure a very high IQ.

I must remember to make that apart of my morning routine,
just to reassure myself:-)
