NTI-TSS keeps cracking

My dentist recommended that I wear an NTI-TSS on my lower teeth at
night because I have evidence of grinding my teeth at night.  My wife
has told me that she can hear me "chomp" once in a while so I believe
the dentist is right.  However, I have had more than one fail due to
cracking in a short period of time.  How easy should it be to crack
one of these things?  What could be causing this?  Is there anything
else that I can wear since this can't seem to hold up to my jaws?
Thanks.

I am happy to readily replace cracked NTIs at a nominal fee.

Better you break the NTI than your teeth, less expensive too !

On another note, if the NTI is fabricated with 'Snap', it must be
mixed separately and *then* placed into the matrix.
Then placed onto the teeth in a doughy stage.

If your dentist read the instructions then s/he would already know
this.

It's probably more than you want to know.

Ask for a replacement at nominal fee custom made by the lab vs the
prefab made chairside in the office. You must be clenching quite a bit
if it cracks.

An average dental office should get 1-2 people a yar who can break their NTI
in half.  re-Make's for these are free in my office.  Second one usually
lasts 2-3 times longer before breaking.  third one lasts 4-5 times longer
and the next one never breaks.  It takes a long time to de-program some
people.

Having the dentist make a slider on the opposing arch may help. That
way you are hitting plastic against plastic rather than teeth against
plastic.
