Healing after Scaling / Root Planing

I underwent scaling and root planing earlier this week. I had no
problems until yesterday around noon when I started bleeding from the
gums uncontrollably. I kept thinking it would be better and it never
did so I ended up staying up all night with a constant drip of blood
from my gums. I went into the Dentist the first thing this morning
where they gave me a few shots to stop the blood which worked.

Now I'm worried about stopping it from happening again. I took several
ibuprophen which I understand thins the blood somewhat, and I also
just read that omega 3 fatty acids thin the blood which I take in
capsule form daily. So I'm guessing my blood was just unusually thin
and would not clot.

Are there any suggestions on things absolutely not to do? How long
does it take to fully heal after the procedure.. how long should I
wait to take asprin or drink alcohol or do anything else that will
thin the blood?

Aspirin and I think Ibuprofen thins the blood.   All the so-called NSAIDS.
And if you add garlic to the menu, your blood will thin quickly.   I once
had that situation with Crohns illness and my blood count went down to 7.

Matter of fact, I am so crohns conscious, that I think the bleeding of your
gums was caused by Crohns illness.
I had that experience once, went to the dentist, but by that time the
bleeding stopped but some regression of the gums occurred.  Hope you solve
the problem well before any recession problems.
