Who do I see for TMJ/NTS?

I'm a clencher, and my bite keeps changing, as well as developing a gap between
the two front bottom teeth, where there was none before. Is the dentist the
first one I should see, or should I go to an oral surgeon?  My dentist has blown
me off whenever I wanted to discuss it, so obviously I will be finding a new
dentist - but where do I go first?

Go to www.nti-tss.com and search for a dentist near you.

Thanks, already have done that, and in fact have an appointment set. But I
wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time and instead should be seeing an
oral surgeon....I take it you think I should see the dentist first.

The OMFS is not trained to provide early intervention.  He is wonderfully
trained to help out in special cases. See the GP first.

This is a 'condition' that you need to be very careful what you
ask for when being 'treated'.  You can get much more (and sometimes
much less) than you really need.

It also isn't a disease that can be 'cured'.  It is a condition that
can usually be controlled.

An experienced NTI dentist is certainly the best place to start.

What are you thinking that the surgeon would do for your situation?
