It's not likely to help the local anesthetic. However, if you take it
before the anesthetic wears off it may well decrease postoperative pain.

Loratab (aka Vicodin) is a narcotic while novocaine is not. There is no
harm in combining both drugs but you should have your dentist shoot you
in a few angles to complete the numbing effect (I have the same problem
with my maxillary jaw & sometimes need three injection cartridges just to
become numb enough for a simple filling).

Clenchers often are more difficult to anesthetize, along with
patients who are obese, and those who won't/can't open wide enough
for the dentist to get a good approach.
A Stabident or X-tip will finish the deal without a lot of
'poke & hope'.

Those who have read this post should completely disregard
'Shawn's' advice.
First off, mispelling of prescription medication, is a super clue
to the lack of knowledge of the poster.
Secondly, the advice about 'novocaine' is confirming evidence
that the poster doesnt' know what the frack he is talking about.
One would be hard pressed to even buy the stuff anymore.
Thirdly, if it was so 'simple' then even bubba the clinton could
do the job.
Finally Lortab <correct spelling> does NOT equal Vicodin.
BTW, Shawn, you are a fool.
Ever heard of equivalents or generics ?
