Generally I think the white strips have the frequency of "touchups" as
yearly, but I'd check the package. Be sure to have a cleaning at your
dentist before bleaching. I wouldn't use them more often than that.
Silica is an abrasive; it helps scrub off stains. I think both silica
and alumina are common abrasives in most toothpastes.

steve, ive had silica and alumina in my toothpastes -- egads! i
thought of silicon. which is recommended 4 hair conditioning...alumina
has been in some rembrandt...ill b sure 2 do the bleaching soon after
the cleaning -- mayb wait a week bec of possible sensitivity...ty 4
