i always think id like my teeth whiter..........(although sometimes i
run into the term "bleaching")..had Nite White done in 1999 and have
used the different kinds of Crest White Strips a few times since
then..also use the whitening chewing gum after i eat (when i
remember  :/ )   ...im especially concerned about too much bleach over
the years....is there a good, safe regimen for this? also what safely
whitens? silica for example?   sherry

Generally I think the white strips have the frequency of "touchups" as
yearly, but I'd check the package.  Be sure to have a cleaning at your
dentist before bleaching.  I wouldn't use them more often than that.
Silica is an abrasive; it helps scrub off stains.  I think both silica
and alumina are common abrasives in most toothpastes.
