My six-year-old has begun grinding his teeth at night. Are there ways
to stop this or should I just get a guard? My daughter was grinding her
teeth at this age as well. At the time I would talk to her about it at
bedtime and she eventually stopped. Not sure if the talking did any
good or she just stopped on her own, but talking doesn't seem to be
doing anything for my son and his grinding is worse.

Wrinkled(?), yellow, and porous is he.
Not a lot you can do about kids who grind their teeth. Maybe stop
gum chewing so as not to add to the problem during waking hours.
Anti-clenching devices (even the NTI) are made to specifically fit
the teeth. Kids are always growing, so the appliance would also
alter the growth and shape of their mouths.
If they are still clenching and grinding by the age of 13-16,
an NTI could be considered.

Thanks for offering your opinion. I really hate the sound of teeth
grinding.

Oh yeah. I knew that first word wasn't right, but my youngest kid
is 21.
Sorry for not having the answer that you are looking for.
