Depends on the degree of infection, and sometimes its location (ie. near
critical areas, like your trachea).  Depends if IV or oral.  The dose can be
150-600mg every 6 hours.  As for duration....usually 5 days at least, but
I've seen patients (especially those who started with IV but finish with
oral) on it for 2 weeks total.
