Hi guys

I have recently been diagnosed with Sjogren's, with or without
Lupus..not sure yet.  But I have a really dry mouth and am wanting to
do all I can to help myself.

I have seen that there are some products.. toothpaste, sprays, sweets,
gum etc  by Bioxtra and Biotene on the web that are supposed to be
good for dry mouth conditions.

Does anyone know if they are really any good or is it a waste of
money?  The Bioxtra are the cheaper of the two and I would go with
that if it'll help.

Cheers

Biotene is the known name for dry-mouth products.  Check the
ingredients--I'd bet Bioxtra is a decent knockoff.  They should not be
depended upon to remedy the greatly increased decay rate we often (but
not invariably) see in patients with diminished salivation (xerostomia).
You may well need topical fluoride preparations and certainly
meticulous oral hygiene and optimum diet.  But certainly these
preparations can make you much more comfortable.

Good luck,
Steve
