Hi, I called the Dentist this morning but it is her day off. The
receptionist explained my problem to another dentist there and called
me back.
I missed the call so she left a message saying that the Dry-Socket
dressing would dissolve on its own.
I am pain-free now but how long should it be until the whole dressing
is gone, its now 48-hours.

Again, depends on exactly what was used as a 'dressing'.
Much longer than 48 hrs if gelfoam or surgicel.

She never said... but when I used some saltwater last night a little
came out, looks like tobacco if that helps.
I have an appointment on Tuesday anyway, so if I get a Dry Socket at
least I'll be seen.
The hole is completely full but its that far in the corner I can
hardly see it. It feels a little hard but I dont know if its bone or
the Dry Socket stuff, or the Blood Clot!
It's Day 3 now and I experience no pain or bad taste so all is alright
I hope.

Oh yeah, the only thing I've eaten since I got it out is yogurts, and
the only thing I've drank is milk! At least no good can get stuck in
there anyway.

Yes, it sounds like alvogyl (esp the tobacco-like description...).
Just follow your normal daily routine without worrying about the
dressing. When the time is right it won't be there anymore.

George

Thanks, I can still taste the dry-socket dressing all the time though.
It was worse this morning when I woke up, its the same taste since the
day I got it extracted. It just seemed stronger... hopefully not mixed
with dry-socket infection taste

Thanks its now nearly day 11 and am completely pain free. Original
dressing is still in but its getting looser every day which I think is
a good thing.
OK.... on Monday I went to my dentist to get a few lower teeth filled.
1 wisdom tooth, and another lower small one neasr the back. I got
numbed up, and the dentist drilled out my old temporary filling fine,
pain-free. After lots more drilling I started to get sharp nerve pains
as though she was poking it or something. It was that bad I moved
suddenly, and told her it was hurting, she said "the tooths dead, you
need to behave" so I let her carry on a bit longer and then the same
thing happened again, so she stopped and said "right, we wont do
anymore treating today. you wont keep still" so I told her the nerve
is hurting so she goes on again about the tooth being numbed, that the
tooths dead and I've had previous infections in it. she said I was
having no nerve pain. She said if it wasnt numb it would hurt
constantly. So she just filled them up with what I think is a
temporary fillings, and now my next appointment isnt for another
couple of months(check-up).
She couldve just numbed it up a bit more. I dont really know whether
to go back because she was that mean when I complained off it hurting
she'll probably be like that if it ever happens again.
There's also a few more teeth that needed doing which she was planning
to do but now my next appointment is a "check-up"
