Hi all, just moved to a new city and am currently looking for a
dentist. However, I thought I'd post my case here in case someone can
give me some tips on what the problem(s) may be:
I am 27 years old.
I have had a pain (not unbearable, just annoying) on my left side of
the jaw in the area behind the teeth where the bottom and top portions
of the jaw connect near the ear lobe. It's nothing serious and
sometimes I forget it's there, but there are days like today where
they annoy me and it does hurt if I open my mouth too wide.
I've had this complication for a few months now, but it comes and
goes. However, If i try to open my mouth too wide, it hurts.
Does anyone have any clue what this could be? I heard someone tell me
that it may be a gland issue and I just need to use a mouthwash or
something that contains hydrogen peroxide.
Thought I'd post this hear in hopes of getting some feedback from the
professionals. Thanks again.

Hard to tell over the internet, but it is likely TMJ pain.
Might want to find a dentist experienced with the NTI device.

Yea that's what I started thinking it was according to some medical
books I have. I'll get it checked out, but right now just very busy
and was wondering if I can delay a little:)
Btw, do you know if sleeping on your stomach and your face side could
cause this? just wondering if constant pressure would do this.
Probably not. Thanks.

You might want to ask your dentist about http://www.bitestrip.com/ to
rule out grinding as a cause.

That would contribute to making it worse.
