I've been out of dental school for almost 30 years. Thanks to this
group, an posters like Jan Drew, I've learned that mercury in thimerosal
preserved vaccines causes autism and that mercury in mercury-amalgam
fillings is poisonous to humans and that root canals are dangerous and
poisonous as well and that all endo treated teeth should be extracted.
Are dental implants bad, too?

Discuss.

Although implants are relatively new to dentistry compared to amalgams
or root canals, and more research on them needs to be done, there has
been pretty strong evidence so far that they are indeed harmful to
patients. Their effect is slowly developing and appears to affect
older people more. I will alert you to a large, well-conducted study
of implants placed on 60-year olds. The study found out that after 20
years of the implant placement many of those patients were dead. From
those that were alive, many suffered from heart problems and elevated
blood pressure and almost all reported an inability to perform
sexually. I think the evidence speaks for itself!

Yeah it does...

In 20 years, I will be in the same condition... With or without implants....

I'll bet they lose their hair and hearing too...  And they will probably get
bitchy about the cost of dental treatment....

Hmm all of that from implants....

For those sarcasm-impaired in this newsgroup... there was never a
study like that. I was being sarcastic about the poor research often
used by the ant-amalgam, anti-endo crowd.

I need a good laugh. I'm going to look at the ADA's "evidence based"
web
page.

Hopefully the poor fellow that demanded that you "Discuss" the issue
will give you a high grade!

ROTFL. Points well taken!

Yes All depends on the materials you may use, the mercury
has been approved of course as a toxical one.

But today we have new materials which may be less toxical
or even non-toxical, such as the Zirconia ceramic we supply.
