Why do some people get gold crowns or porcelain crowns or crowns made
from other materials?... Are there crowns of different materials for
different cases?... What material is preferred?... Is it always a
matter of budget, for example?...

For teeth that show and don't do a lot of 'heavy work,' I got porcelain
fused to gold as a gold-colored cuspid would be a bit much. For my
molars, which do heavy duty and don't show, I've gotten/am getting gold,
as this material tends to wear well.

There are other materials; some are much more costly.

Am now using Captek (porcelain to high noble) in posteriors
and all ceramic for anteriors.

What is "right"?... What is "cold"?...
Any references with discussion about this?...

I think KP just typo'd 'gold'.  He does much better with English
than I would with Polish.

'Right' is just another way of saying gold is an excellent material
for dental restorations.  He didn't say other materials were 'wrong'.

I don't always agree, but his heart seems to be in the right place.

The only thing I guarantee for life is an extraction.

Yes, extraction is absolutely the final solution, but you can't do it
for all teeth and without one piece! So at this moment you should ask
for an implant, in precious metals, in porcelain or in modern ceramics
such as the product we supply now: Zirconia, Zirconium Oxide powder,
stabilized with Yttria, for ceramic denture.

For different materials, the prices are of course different. And also
for their property.
