Residual tooth and root is removed. The implant is inserted into bone.

Sometimes, yes, it is placed immediately. More often, some healing needs to
occur prior to placing the implant. This is due to the health of the bone
when a diseased tooth has been present.

Me too. If you don't know the thread you can always scroll down.
If you do know the thread, it save scrolling through volumes of
writing to find one little comment.

In contrast to my last post, here's what a 'me too' looks like
with bottom posting and no editing of text. Had to scroll for
little substance.

Amatus - thank you kindly for your swift response.
Re implant inserted into bone. . .
How can a dentist know what size the implant is, is an x-ray adequate, or
are implants a one size fits all?
If it occurs in my case that there is a time frame for my jaw bone to heal
or surround the implant there would be a temporary crown for a while?
And then an additional wait time for the permanent new crown would be
expected?

Lots of factors are used to determine size. Let your dentist worry about
this one.

Depends on what was done to the site.
