I had a upper left molar root canal finished 5 days ago and a post put in the
day after I am now experiencing discomfort along the gum of that tooth and to
the 2 teeth forward with some pressure in the cheek radiating now into the
side of my nose and base of eye and noticable swelling in the cheek by the
base of my nose. Could anyone please give me a suggestion as to what is
happening? I went to the ER and was told that is was referred pain from the
nerves but no explaination for the swelling

Suggestion isn't good enough.  You need to be seen--obviously you have
an infection.  It may be related to the tooth with the root canal (or
not), but be seen promptly.

    Certainly a consideration.

>Thanks for the info....... here's an update I had a CT scan this morning and they think that the procedure cracked the floor of the sinus...... it showed the root canal filled to the floor and possibly cracked it. What the heck  do I do now ???..... lol .....I am seeing the endodontist at 4 pm today.if it cracked the floor of the sinus what is the chance the root is cracked Thanks again

Unless you actually see root canal filling material in the sinus
(possible but unusual) it is unlikely in the extreme that you will
fracture the sinus floor during an endodontic procedure.  I have heard
of filling material being extruded into the sinus.  Someone who knows
the anatomy of the area should confirm whether this is so from the CT.
I'm guessing some tech just told you this--wait for the radiologist
report on the study.
