I have a gum-colored pimple on my gum, beside a lower-left molar which
had a RCT years ago. The endontist said she would have to re-RCT the
tooth and, if there were cracks in either of the two roots (which
would indicate a bacteria problem), the tooth would need to be
extracted and I would need either a bridge or a crown.
This was two months ago when I told her I wanted to wait a while
before treating the tooth. In the meantime, I have increased my
vitamin C intake and the pimple is disappearing. (I'm not sure, of
course, if it is because of the vitamin C.) I figure this is not
necessarily good news. It's not going to heal any possible crack the
root(s) of the tooth or kill any possible bacteria, I don't believe.
Is my endontist correct in her diagnosis? As long as there is no pain
(yet), am I causing any damage by waiting? Can any possible bacteria
spread and cause any problems? Could this effect my general health?
Thanks.

You are walking around knowing you have an infection in bone. Does that
sound smart to you?

IOWs, get it fixed or get it out. We don't know the full possibilities
about an infectious cyst and the rest of your body, but it is safer to
be rid of the infection.
