ahuangdds2@gmail.com - 25 Apr 2007 22:16 GMT Sorry for not replying any messages that is to me.....For some reason....I can't post on existing thread anymore?
The Webby - 25 Apr 2007 22:50 GMT > Sorry for not replying any messages that is to me.....For some > reason....I can't post on existing thread anymore? Well... here's an idea:
In that case, you could start a new thread which is developed from a point of organizing the various issues and concerns. That should be effective... probably better than continuing those long threads. Once they're too long, much gets lost in the messages anyway.
You can copy/cut/paste particular sections of the posts as you go along. Or we could repost our thoughts/questions into the new thread.
There's always a work-around ...

I have noticed that Google's Usenet service takes forever to display messages posted using their service. I am so annoyed that my ISP has decided to quietly decommission their Usenet server, citing low usage.

Amatus Cremona - 26 Apr 2007 12:34 GMT Do you post through Newsgroups, or some web-based forum which forwards messages to Newsgroups?

I never liked using that "service" ... I tried it out for use when I was traveling but it was easier to just not post until I returned home. ... just my opinion.

Amatus Cremona - 26 Apr 2007 20:14 GMT I think he said his ISP stopped NG service, so he would have to pay extra for it.

You gotta admit 50MB/day DL for a one time $3.95 fee is a good deal.

It was my choice too until I went "Mac" ... way back. I *loved* using Agent (FreeAgent). As far as I know, it is still incompatible with Mac OSX. :-((((((((

I have been using NewsWatcher for awhile now. It's satisfactory. I did try out "thoth" ... maybe "thoth2" is better. I'll have another look at what's out for Mac now. Thanks for the links. There is at least *one* other Mac user here... ;-)

Yeah, NewsWatcher that's it.
If you checked the linx there seem to be a several to pick from.

Steven Fawks - 27 Apr 2007 02:55 GMT Some may have needed the brackets, but not me. I'd counter that with an 86 (in a Sunbeam?).

The last season had him driving an upscale car as I recall

Don't know what it cost. Just stumbled across it when I went from an old iMac to an eMac (use it at home on a Mac laptop too).
When I get that last kid out on his own I might buy a fancier machine or two.
Seems pretty smooth, but I might want to examine Newbie's sites.
Thanx, D

There are other newsreaders out there, some are free.
Also you need a NNTP access. Here's TeraNews: www.teranews.com/
There are also 'premium' news services out there. Am currently using Easy News http://easynews.com/
