Absolutely no way to be specific over the internet.

Pain from the inside of a tooth will generally not go away fully until the
tooth has had a root canal treatment, or has been removed.  However, severe
swelling can make performing either procedure very painful.  Antibiotic will
usually get the swelling down, but will not treat the dead tissue inside the
tooth.  A course of antibiotic gets the swelling down so that the tooth can
then be treated.  Typically takes 2-4 days for the antibiotic to begin
making a difference.  Most people notice a difference on the third day.
Sometimes, the antibiotic will make the swelling feel "harder", and then
"pop" and drain a bunch of foul tasting pus.

Would that be opposed to *good* tasting pus ?  :-P

I was about to comment on some of the various available flavors, but
remembered the email contest you and I had a couple of years ago.  You won
that contest handily.  I shutter to think how you might win a "scent"
contest.   :-))
