According to PIAA, the consortium of 60 malpractice insurers in the
US, the average cost of litigation for dental injury resulting from
laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation is $10,000 and this is the cause
of the greatest number of cases of litigation against anesthesia
providers. Maybe everyone needs to befriend more dentists? Read about
this on line at www.salmonmedical.com. They are promoting a new foam
tooth protector during intubation to help eliminate the problem. Seems
the insurance companies would be jumping on this one right away and
even investing in the product.

This padded device will not likely save that many teeth....Since the padding
is backed by the laryngoscope blade, the blade will still exert a lot of
pressure on the teeth if the force on the blade handle is not applied
appropriately.  Just my opinion.  If you find you can't visualize the cords
after a second try, go to the difficult airway algorhythm and don't chance
it.

Oh, and by the way, thanks for the spam.  There are better ways to find
investors.
