I have a question regarding the price quoted for a Valplast upper
partial that will replace all but the front 8 teeth.  She has no work
to be done to these other teeth and I'm wondering if the $1700.00
quoted to her is about average for this type of work.

Why Valplast over traditional type of partial?

That is in the ball park for many regions.

Where are you?

A little high in Hooterville, but probably not for metro areas or on
the coasts.

I've made several Valplast partials over the years, and I'm not a big
fan.  They are hard to adjust/polish and tend to stain over time.

Some patients really like them though....

Valplast at any price is too expensive IMO.

These cannot be modified nor repaired.

I think they can, but only at that secret lab in the Fortress of
Solitude.  Otherwise, my lab carbide just bounces off.

You need a mini plasma cutter.

What I meant by 'modified' is that you cannot add teeth
if abutments are lost in the future.
If a tooth comes off the appliance it cannot be put back on.

So my lab tech tells me.

Could be.  I hate them, and try to discourage patients.  However, I've
had patients come in with them--some of the patients love them.  Of
course it's pretty amazing what some patients like and don't like.
Also interesting--the pretty orangey color the base of these
Valplast-type partials turn in a few years.

:)))
Problems is what kind of material are use: very bad quality and easy to work
with like sunflex, TCS , flexident - there are mixed Its not nylon in 100%

Resisiant of chemical materials called valplast or Nylon 110N is very long

Thanks Krzysztof, maybe my lab tech just doesn't want to mess with it.

Becouse Its a lot materials witch are not orginal valplast. valplast is a
pure NYLON N110 repaiable and relinable.
Of course There is not good in every cases but The manufacturer is giving
warrenty of breaking.
The suggestion is to ask for certificates with this warrenty there should be
put number of tubes material come from .
