There is commonly some inflammation and swelling after the preparation
and impression of the tooth. The contour of the temp. or permanent
crown also can affect the shape of the adjacent gum, squeezing and
forming the interdental papillae.
It would be unusual to have to do any procedure on the gum to allow
insertion of the crown.
