Will the implant tooth will be darker?... over the years,
routine 6 month cleanings bring teeth back to a lighter
shade after oral rinse use apparently.

Discoloration
It appears the Peridex Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.12%
oral rinse used 3 times a day after implant surgery can
discolor teeth enough so that matching the shade of the
implant tooth could result the implant tooth being a shade
that matches the oral rinsed discolored teeth.

Chlorhexidene staining can be very severe, and certainly obvious to any
conscious dentist.  As such, it will be obvious that the stained teeth
need to be polished prior to any shade match (unless prior work has been
done and the real shade of the teeth are recorded in the patient's chart).

So even with the discoloration the protocol is for patients
to use the chlorhexidine gluconate 0.12% after implant
surgery?... then clean the discoloration?

In the future what better protocol could be developed
that would not discolor teeth after implant surgery
with the oral rinse?

I wouldn't assume that all surgeons prescribe CHG rinses
perioperatively (though I wouldn't be surprised that many do).  In any
case, if preventing posoperative infection is a priority, I would guess
that a little extrinsic staining that can be easily polished off would
be a small price to pay.
Certainly it's possible that superior intraoral antiseptics will be
developed that don't have this problem, but I doubt it's a top priority
to most of the pharmaceutical companies.
