Hi, guys,

It's been 1.5 years since I had my dental braces.  My ortho is trying
to correct my bite now using elastic rubber bands.

I have bummer (a type of rubber band) on the left and the right, and
debbie (another type of rubber band) in the front.

I was asked to ware one bummer on the left, one bummer on the right
and one debbie in the front.

I am just wondering if I can hook up 2 bummers on the left, 2 bummers
on the right and 2 bummers in front.

The reason why I wanna do this is because it doesn't feel tight enough
with only 1 rubber band at each of the 3 spots.  However, I don't
wanna get into trouble by doing this.

So, is it safe to wear 2 instead of 1 at each spot?  Thanks.

I am certainly not an orthodontist, but it is unwise to place
too much pressure on teeth and move them too fast during
ortho treatment.

One would have to assume that your orthodontist is applying the
correct pressure to move the teeth without causing damage.

Making up your own rules to speed up the process would not
be recommended and would likely be dangerous.

Thanks for participating in the discussion.  I just called my ortho
and he says it is OK.  He also asked me to stop by and get some
stronger rubber bands, so that I can apply only one on each side.
