I qualified from Kings College with a merit (BDS). I got a distinction
viva, but didn't get honours. (I am just glad I passed)
I struggled initially with some of the academic work, but did really
well in all clinical disciplines.
I did my pre-reg in London and then worked part time in the Harley
Street area.
Although I earn £73k /year after tax I am getting really bored of
routine cons and am getting a bit depressed at the prospect of doing
this for the rest of my working life.
I sometimes think of doing some NHS work to 'give something back' but
it won't pay the mortgage
Can I skip 1st year & go straight into 2nd year (or 3rd year)?

I think you should ask this in a medical group or contact your former
university. Alternatively, have you considered following a specialty
(implants, endodontics etc)?
