Does any one know a good news group where derntists can exchange views with
each other, without the whole site becomming a patient "Agony Aunt" type
affair?

The IDF is one option. Dental Town has a group also.

I think that SMD has been pretty good lately, but it has
a history of abusive posters showing up and ruining everything.
