How bad is it to take both ibuprofen and tylenol together?

I'm in a lot of pain after my implant surgery/sinus lift today.
The dentist gave me 600mg of ibuprofen, but I have tylenol+codeine at
home.
I took a tylenol+codeine a few hours after the ibuprofen, but my
desire is to take one tylenol+codeine, plus 600mg of ibuprofen, plus
maybe 5-10mg or valium so I just sleep through the pain tonight...

Is that too much to take? (I don't have any liver problems that I know
of, and I'm not drinking alcohol for at least couple of days..)

(I'm also on amoxicillin.)

When it comes to altering medication regimens, its best to ask your surgeon.
S/He should have an emergency contact number.

From what I've read on the net (and in medical books). Mixing
acetaminophen  and ibprophen give you much stronger pain relief.
However, it is far more toxic to your body organs than one or the
other.

I'd personally use one or the other if it were me. But not both.
Incidentally, I'm not a medical person, and I don't have the
authority to give medical advice.

Thanks for the feedback.
I switched to tylenol-4 (or is it 3?) but stopped taking the
ibuprofen. I could not get rid of the pain this way, but it made ie
bearable enough to get to sleep.

My Surgeon prescribed T-3's after my wisdom extraction.  Before I left
the office, I told him that Codeine had no effect on me (never has).
I believe that T-3's are 8mg Codeine plus 500mg Acetominaphen (I'm not
a Pharmacist nor a Doctor so that's just my $0.02 worth).    He
scrapped the prescription and wrote a new one for Oxycodone (Endocet)
5/325.  I'm not really into drugs so I put off taking anything until
the pain became distracting.  About 6 hours after the procedure I
guess the local was wearing off to the point that the pain was
overwhelming.  I took one Oxy and in 20 min. felt like I was on a trip
to the moon.  The pain was still there but I just didn't seem to care
about it so much (stoned).  Didn't like that at all!   600mg of
Ibuprophen seems rather high... Was that per dose?  I spent the rest
of the week taking Ibuprophen, 200mg ~every 5 hours and really had
little to no discomfort.  I had some Diazepam (10mg) left over from a
previous prescription which I took one of just before bed for a head
start into relaxation/sleep.  I'm an ordinary guy with absolutely no
medical experience but I have researched medicine extensively after
dying once and never being given a reasonable explanation as to why.
I don't think combining those two med's is a good idea at all.  I
would pick the one that works best for you and stay with that.
Screwing with your liver isn't a very good idea.

Cheers,

Gary

Dear Gary,
The ibuprophen meds I've taken typically say one or two
tablets every four hours or so. I've heard of prescription does
up to 1,000 miligrams per four hours. So, 600 is believable.
With hydrocodone (Vicodin) I've read that it's not very good
to relieve pain after you're hurting. So, I was told to take em
before the lidocaine shots wore off.
I'm pleased you got relief from the dose you took.
