Hi,
I have pockets of 4 aorund a couple of root canalled teeth -one has
been this way for 18 years and not gotten worse (an incisor) - it feels
lightly loser than the other teeth - but not really loose or
anything...Another molar with a root canal - a very problematic one
that just had a (successful?) retreat - has some gum recession, pocket
of 4 mm (at last appointment) and also the part near the gum is specked
with white...I think the dentist said this is dentin exposure..should I
worry about this? See a periodontist etc...

Your dentist should be well-equipped to make the decision to refer or
not to refer.  In any case, I wouldn't expect a periodontist to deal
with any white speckling.  Dentin is generally darker (yellower) than
enamel.
