Discoloration after extraction

So, I had posted on here about my jaw/teeth hurting after having my
right wisdom teeth extracted.  I'm finally able to open my mouth to a
normal size.  I was flossing my teeth (something that's basically
impossible when you can't open your mouth) and I noticed a
discoloration in the back of my mouth.  I've been feeling that the
texture of my gum isn't normal on the lower extraction site, but passed
it off as a scar from the stitches.  I doubt this is dry socket, but
I'm worried that it could be an infection.  There's not bad taste/odor
and it doesn't hurt.  I thought it looks black, my stepdad thinks it's
gray, either way, it's bad (I think).  I'm going to call my dentist
first thing in the morning, but if he can't see me tomorrow, going to
have to wait until next week.  I'm heading on a road trip from NY to
Maine for a funeral tomorrow, so of course everything has to be done
now.  Thanks for listening to my rambling.  Oh yeah, the extraction was
two weeks ago.

Unlikely you have a dry socket without pain, and also doubtful you have
an infection based on your description.  You can see a lot of different
colors during healing.
