I rinse and floss after breakfast and lunch. I floss and brush
after dinner. But I'm not using tooth paste.
I have my breakfast when I get to work. I don't want to brush at
a tight public restroom but I do manage to rinse and floss my
teeth after Dunken Donuts.
I have my dinner around 7pm. I floss and brush right after the
dinner. But I'm not putting on any paste because I often have
something else between then and the bed time.
Then when the bedtime comes, I'm so tired that I don't want to
brush again and I go to bed right away.
So I end up not using tooth paste a lot of times. Otherwise, my
teeth are quite clean. Is this Okay? Should I definitely use
paste before going to bed? Thanks.

How about brushing when you wake up? ... With a wet toothbrush or with
fluoride toothpaste. I think the important thing is to get a toothbrush
on your teeth a few times a day.
I can't go to bed without brushing my teeth. I literally can't fall
asleep ... it freaks me out knowing I've left an optimum environment
for the bad bugs in my mouth.
I am a total convert to the idea of bringing toothbrushes with you
everywhere. If I don't get a chance to brush before going to work, I
brush during my first break. I can't brush in a public restroom,
either. It grosses me out. You can brush anywhere, though. Just keep
your toothbrush in a ziplock bag. If you want to make sure your mouth
is really "wet" before you brush, you can put some Biotene gel on your
tongue and spread it around your mouth ... it's OK to swallow.
One good habit is swishing with water after you eat ... you can swallow
or not. This will get rid of the large, easily dislodged particles.
Before bed, I brush with a wet toothbrush for awhile, then I brush with
fluoride toothpaste for two minutes. I'm sure I could swish with a
fluoride rinse instead of using the toothpaste.
In summary, all you need is few soft bristle toothbrushes, floss,
water, and a tube of fluoride toothpaste. If you want to spend more,
you can get some Biotene gel, fluoride rinse, xylitol mints, etc.

The brushing and flossing are generally far more important than what
you put on the brush. Yes, there's some detergency, and then there's
fluoride. Still, I wouldn't worry too much about toothpaste.
