Hello All

I need help!

I had a tooth extracted about 2 weeks ago, and it's healing well
according to my dentist.  However, i have a small amount of food that
is stuck in the hole that i can't get out.

I've already been back to the dentist twice since extraction because of
infection etc.

I have no pain now, thankfully, but am slightly concerned about this
bit of food, i've tried rinsing but to no avail.

Should i be concerned?  I really don't want to hassle my dentist
anymore!

HELP!

Sooz

If you don't have any significant symptoms, you don't really have to go
to your dentist. This problem will eventually vanish once the socket
heals completely, but this may take sometime. In the meantime, you
could try gently rubbing with cotton to remove the food. Avoid anything
hard that can injure the socket, eg a toothpick, unless you have steady
hands and confidence.

George

ask the dentist for a syringe for irrigation of the sockets. Or for
him/her to irrigate the food out.
