Maybe, but probably not.  The reason I waffle is that there is a chance
that the crown can be popped off, the porcelain stripped, and
re-applied.  Alternatively, if the lab die and articulation have been
saved and haven't been damaged (big if) a crown can be refabricated on it.
    However, the problem is that often it is risky to remove the crown
currently in place without doing damage to the underlying tooth.  It's
also not pleasant.  So most of the time we cut the crown (destroying it
in the process) to remove it.  Sometimes the tooth can be slightly
altered in doing this, so even if the die was saved it may not be possible.
    But it's definitely worth it to discuss your concerns with your dentist.

Do you really think they save the temporary molds for two months? I
doubt it. But then, I'm not a dentist. Nor a lab tech.

Thanks for getting back with me so quickly.   My next question would
be about
having to have a temporary crown again......since the crown was just
put in 2
months ago - can't the lab just make another like it?   And then it
would be
a one step procedure, which I could get through much easier.
