Had an appointment to see Doctor Ole*****
after 90 minute wait, in comes miss new hire, blonde.
Tries to take pics that I took with her 90 days ago when I ALSO had an
appointment with Dr Ole****!
I say, didn't we take Xrays when I say you in August? Oh yeah, that
was you!
So, where's Dr Ole****?
Oh he's got a sick, ummm, Aunt! Yeah that's it.
Ok, so here's my problem, I have just started a new job and my
insurance won't cover the cost of the crowns I need, so is there some
temp fix we can do until I can afford this?
So Miss sHtick says, let me put together a "treatment plan" for ya. A
treament plan is a scarlet letter in Dentristry language. It means Go
the Hell away!
The second she knew I didn't have billable insurance.. boot to the
a.s and out the door. I could here the duck saying
"Aflack..........." As some skinny *** sawed it's f.cking bill off.
So my teeth will fall out. I will, of course try to find alt ideas,
but come on. It's over. I am ******.
I allways paid respect to Dentists, allways calling Dr Ole*** DOCTOR
and Sir. But, now. Boy.... Like car salesmen I guess. I don't know
what the Hell to do.
Was I just stupid to think anyone really gives a sh.t about people
anymore?

Hello?
George - 30 Oct 2006 20:32 GMT
What was the dental question? If you want help choosing the best
treatment for you, post some more details about your current oral
condition, although we'll only be able to make suggestions over the
internet. If you think your current dentist is not caring or helpful
enough, then you'll have to find another one! Ask your
friends/neighbours/workmates for personal recommendations.
Regards,
George

You're just realizing this? That in the USA, 21st Century, almost no
professional anything cares about ANYthing other than the Almighty
Dollar. Well, that's the bottom line, anyway. They care about YOU only
to the extent that they can do so within the framework of using you to
pay for their Porsche, Mercedes, home, etc...
Yes, most dentists these days (not speaking of those who are kind
enough to help people, here on this usenet group) are no better than
used car salesmen.
Welcome to the USA, capitalism run wild in the 21st Century. And then
saddled with HMO's and other "dental plans" that pretty much encourage
the dentist to sell their clients procedures and materials they don't
really need.
I'm just telling it like it is. Sorry if it offends those of you who
post here; as I said I am not attacking you personally; I figure any
dentist who posts here on a regular basis is pretty much a good
dentist who cares about people. But the majority of the dentists I
have run into in person have not been so compassionate, they just seem
to care about bleeding us for as much $$$ as they can get away with.
George is right: Ask around, try to find a good dentist.
Don't expect it to be easy to find one; they are few and far between
these days.
Good luck.
