Is this a nightguard to prevent grinding/clenching, or some kind of
orthodontic appliance? Do you wear it during the day?
Can't think how a nightguard would damage or change the appearance of
enamel. Just make sure it's kept clean--any dirt in the nightguard will
be held against your teeth, and in the presence of sugar can encourage
decay.

Color change may indicate caries or a non vital tooth which could have
lost vitality due to trauma or caries. It would be a prudent to check
with a dentist just to rule out.
