Nasal Irrigation and Toothache

Is it possible for nasal irrigation to stop a toothache?

I am talking about forced irrigation of the sinus cavities with a
water pic pump and a normal saline solution (1 tsp salt to 1 pint
water). The water reaches all sinus cavities and is held for about 1
minute. This procedure is repeated several times twice a day for about
a week.

Probably not but this sure sounds like a great way to try out drowning
without the large body of water, helpless feeling, life flashing
before your eyes....etc.

My wife used to do this--she suggested I try it--I passed.

Good man. I would imagine plastic drop sheets are necessary when this
is tried for the first time. Messy, messy.

I have a hard time believing this is a 'dont knock it until...' thing.

I agree, but that "don't knock it" is my wife's usual default position.

Nasal irrigation is an approved medical treatment.

There used to be a page on the National Jewish website:

They claim to be "#1 Respiratory Hospital in the U.S."

Why all the hyperbole?

You lean over the kitchen sink and let the water flow. Excess water
comes out your mouth and into the sink.

It is recommended by dentists. In fact you can buy the adapter for the
Water Pic online. I got a cheap baby nasal syringe (Kroger, $1.50) and
used the tip. I epoxied it to the Water Pic nozzle after trimming the
nozzle to fit it.

The excess water flows out the back of the pharanx and into your
mouth.
