I was always under the impression that drinking alcohol while on
Penecillin or other antibiotics would diminish the effectiveness of the
antibiotics.
I took someone to get a presc filled with same and I advised her of
that and she said she hadn't heard that, and she said the sheet which
came with the pills didn't mention anything about it.
Am I misinformed about this?  TIA

Yes, you are misinformed.  The only antibiotics that I can think of
that don't mix with alcohol are metronidazole and cephamandole and
that's because they will usually make you vomit.
