I saw a health magazine article which suggested mouth
wash with hydogen peroxide, as a germ killing antiseptic.
I've been doing this now for a month, once a day, for
about 2 minutes.
Any research to support this, as a cavity fighting method?

I am not aware of any. Hydrogen peroxide is a pretty mediocre
antiseptic at 3%. Furthermore, it isn't in contact with plaque long
enough to be effective. Long term it can be somewhat irritating. The
speculation is that it may be of some use with periodontal bacteria
(Keyes method) because some periodontal pathogens are anaerobic. But
this isn't true of most of the bacteria implicated in decay.
A better antibacterial that MAY have an impact on decay is
chlorhexidene gluconate rinse (available only by prescription in the
US), but it has some drawbacks--chiefly staining and change in taste
perception.
