I have recently started to suck on whole cloves.  I use about 3 to 5 a
day and place the one clove stud between my gum and cheek.

Does this present any health hazards?  I began doing this originally as
a mouth freshener and have since found that it also is an appetite
suppressant.  I am a 63 old male with no medical problems other than a
slightly enlarged prostate.

Thanks

Tim

Clove oil is used in some tooth ache remedies. I am not a doctor, and
don't know of any harmful or beneficial effects. How about a web
search?

You can't shout down a troll.
 You have to starve them.

I have searched the web, usenet groups and news.  i have called the
clove distributors.  I can find no information about specific medical
problems concerning sucking on cloves.  I posted to newsgroups in hopes
that someone may have some information on this subject.

I appreciate your response.

Check your feet. Too much of this leads to cloven hooves
