Mouth Ulcers - Adcortyl in Orabase

Hi,

I've had a really bad bout of mouth ulcers recently, I get them from
time to time when I'm stressed or run down but only normally 1 or 2 and
this time my gums are covered in them with a few on my tounge. My
largest one is above my two front teeth on the inside of my lip, I
guess it's about 8-10mm across.

I'm recovering from Glandular Fever and am completely run down.  I was
recommended some Adcortyl in Orabase by my pharmacist on the basis that
if after using the cream for 5 days they hadn't cleared up then I went
and saw my Dentist (I have a stupidly irrational fear on the Dentists
for any reason).

In the instructions, it says to dry the ulcer.  How do they expect you
to do this?  Do I need to get some tissue and dab it?  Surely the
tissue would stick to the ulcer and then be really painful to remove?
Get someone else to blow it?  Stand in front of a fan?

I'm at a loss for how I'm meant to dry the ulcer!  Any help would be
gratefully appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,

Adamant

Gentle dabbing with a gauze square shouldn't be a problem.
