You should take this up specifically with your dentist. Mild recession
is not usually a problem, but it can be a sign (in the absence of
periodontal disease) of poor brushing technique, and some think
parafunctional habits such as grinding and clenching. Sometimes crowded
teeth that are tilted forward tend to have the gums recede. Also, some
anatomic considerations make it more likely that gum recession will be
progressive.
Certainly not an emergency, but take this up (and point out specific
areas of concern) to your dentist next time.
