I had a molar & incisor extracted five days ago & just now had to get my
Vicodin meds refilled. I feel like there
is a big piece of steak stuck between the two teeth , but the teeth are
gone. The Clots look intact & I take
every precaution to prevent a possible dry socket. When will I become normal
again ???

I now limit my pain medication to one in the evening since it gets worse at
that time. (Maybe the falling temps
in Northern New England could play a role in the timing).

I don't smoke or draw up drinks through straws, so a dry socket shouldn't be
an issue & there doesn't appear
to be any evidence of infection (I have antibiotics standing by just in
case).

Any  clues from you dentistry gurus out there ?

keep in mind that as the bone remodels, pieces of bone might break off and
try to work their way out of the gingival tissue.

you just have to give it some time to get better...two weeks and usually the
mouth is fully healed
