I need a periodontist to get a second opinion. Can someone here give
me some names? There are not a lot of periodontists listed in the
phone book and they all seem to be part of these big group practices
that make you go through a big deal to get to the specialist.
I was advised to have gum graft surgery at $3500. I already know my
dental insurance won't cover it. I don't spend that much without a
second opinion. Especially from the dental practice my insurance
company has stuck me with.
I want someone who will let me come in without a referral, (since I
myself will pay for the visit). I just want them to look at my
teeth, look at the X-rays I will bring with me and discuss the
treatment options. An honest person who is not outrageously
expensive, preferably in the downtown/Hollywood/West Los Angeles area.
But I will go outside that area if needed.
The dental practice I regularly go to is a PPO/HMO and it's actually
kind of sleazy. I think they regularly recommend unneccessary stuff,
using the dental insurance to get you in the door, then sell you every
high tech thing. At real high prices.
Thanks.
